Double Heineken Cup winner Denis Leamy is ready to jump straight back into action with Munster after returning from the World Cup and knows he needs to fight for game time ahead of the Heineken Cup.
Leamy lifted the Heineken Cup in 2006 and 2008 with the Irish Province and the back-rower is looking to make his mark on the pitch ahead of this season's opening game against Northampton Saints on Saturday November 12.
"I'm looking forward to getting back and playing a bit of rugby with Munster," he said.
"I'm ready to go straight away.
"We don't have much time as we are only a couple of weeks away from the Heineken Cup and its important for individuals to lay down markers to be in the team.
"We are lucky to have two very tough games ahead of the start of the Heineken Cup. They will get us battle hardened and that is the way you would want it."
After welcoming last season's beaten finalists to Thomond Park in the first game, Munster travel to Castres Olympique the following weekend for their second Pool 1 clash.
