Lee Jones will go into his second Heineken Cup campaign for Edinburgh Rugby boosted by being presented with the club's first Hotel Du Vin/Malmaison player of the month award.
Edinburgh kick-off their Heineken Cup challenge against London Irish at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, 12 November, bidding to reach the knock-out stages for only the second time and end a seven-year wait to make the last eight again. They also have Cardiff Blues and Racing Metro 92 in their group.
Jones, the 23-year-old wing who made three Heineken Cup appearances last season and was a try scorer in the home tie against Castres Olympique, scooped the honour after being chosen by the club's management team as the stand-out player over the five September matches.
Edinburgh Rugby head coach, Michael Bradley, said: "Lee was given the opportunity to perform and has done very well. His performances lifted the team on a number of occasions.
"Some of the highlights would be his defensive work, particularly a covering tackle against Connacht as well as superb line breaks in the match against Aironi, and in our 29-14 home win over Munster."
