Toulon back-row Olivier Missoup has been banned for three months by a French court after being found guilty of 'intentional premeditated violence.'
Missoup was involved in brawl with Montpellier flank Remy Martin at a post-match function after the teams' Top 14 clash last month.
The magistrate hearing the case said, "It is not a question of judging a fight between two rugby players on a pitch but a premeditated attack between one man and another man in a sporting arena."
The suspension looks to have ruled Missoup out of the entire Pool Stage of this season's Amlin Challenge Cup and is a further blow to Toulon who are already without Pumas loose forward Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe and captain Joe van Niekerk due to injury.
