Argentina and Racing Metro star, Juan Martin Hernandez, has been left out of the Pumas World Cup squad announced by coach Santiago Phelan.
The 28-year-old had been a major doubt as he tried to recover from a knee ligament injury sustained playing for Racing against Bourgoin in the Top 14 last March.
Hernandez was Argentina's star player when they finished third in the 2007 tournament in France.
Argentina, who still have several of their stand-outs from the 2007 World Cup squad in the form of veteran hooker Mario Ledesma, who will join the coaching staff at Stade Francais following the World Cup, as well as another new Stade recruit, Felipe Contepomi, who is now likely to captain the Pumas in New Zealand.
Argentina begin their campaign on 10 September against 2003 champions England. They go on to play Romania, Scotland and Georgia in the pool stages.
