This year's Heineken Cup final was one of the greatest in history according to former Northampton and England wing Jon Sleightholme.
Sleightholme missed out on lifting the Heineken Cup with the Saints in 2000 through injury and even though he conceded Saturday's defeat in South Wales was tough to take, he admitted the fourth final to be played at the Millennium Stadium was one of the best he has ever seen.
"It will be no consolation to anybody in the Saints camp that it was one of the great Heineken Cup finals, probably the greatest," he told the Northampton Chronicle.
"I spoke to a number of the press guys after the game and they all agreed it had been an unbelievable game, one which had been a privilege to witness.
"The atmosphere for those lucky enough to be at the Millennium Stadium was incredible, ERC and the team at the Stadium should be congratulated for putting on an amazing show, they could do worse than make Cardiff the permanent home of the final as with the roof on it was reminiscent of the Colosseum in Rome and the gladiators on the pitch certainly delivered."
