Italy have announced that Perpignan coach Jacques Brunel will take over as head coach of the Italian national side following the Rugby World Cup.
The Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) had already announced that current coach, South African Nick Mallet would leave the role following this summer's tournament but today revealed that Frenchman Brunel will replace him.
Brunel has spent four seasons in charge at the French club, guiding them to the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup twice, including to this year's semi-final where they lost 23 v 7 to Northampton Saints on Sunday.
