Owens, who also refereed the 2007 Amlin Challenge Cup final, will be in charge of his 62nd European match while Romain Poite (France) will be refereeing his 41st European match when he is in the middle for Munster's match against Harlequins at Thomond Park a day later.
Both Owens and Poite have been named on the select 10-referee panel for duty at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
