Heineken Cup quarter-finalists Toulon have signed England International Steffon Armitage on a two-year deal from London Irish.
The 25-year-old flanker has made 24 European appearances for the Exiles in five seasons at the club and will link up with his new side this summer.
Philippe Saint-Andre guided his side into the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup in their debut season in the competition and he is delighted to have signed the powerful back-row forward.
"He's a very fast player and very powerful, given his size and his weight," Saint-Andre said.
"He can also play at centre and he speaks French."
