Northampton Saints captain Dylan Hartley was full of admiration for his side's work ethic as they came from behind to book a Heineken Cup semi-final against French giants Perpignan.
The East Midlands outfit, who were the first continental champions of the 21st century, showed all their fighting capabilities to overturn a 13-10 half-time deficit against Ulster at the Stadium: mk.
Hartley and his fellow pack members turned on the power in the closing stages as they defied the scorching conditions to play at a blistering pace for the full 80 minutes in a pulsating quarter final.
"Nothing changes. Week to week we go out to work hard and you know your rewards are going to come later in the game," added Hartley.
"At half time we just said 'keep the tempo up, keep working hard and good things will come'. And they did.
"Ulster didn't crack did they? They went for the full 80 minutes and it was lucky that we took our chance well for Lee Dickson's try.
"The setpiece pulled us through, things like the maul and the scrum, where the lads worked hard. If you nick penalties off that then you're doing well. That's credit to the lads for working hard."
And with a tough Premiership run in and a huge Heineken Cup semi-final now to come, Hartley admits that hard-working attitude will definitely be called upon again over the coming weeks.
"We have a busy few weeks in the Premiership and we are going to have to call on our squad. But we are in a good place at the moment," added the England hooker.
"We've gone a step further than last year and that's a positive but we can't be happy with that. We've got to keep going."
