South African second-row Gerrie Britz is hoping Perpignan can make it through to the last four of the Heineken Cup this season so he can play some part in the knock-out stage of the competition.
The 32-year-old scored two tries in four appearances in the Pool stage of the tournament this year but will miss Perpignan's quarter-final tie against Toulon this weekend with a shoulder injury.
The injury means he will miss the chance to line-up against former Springbok and Stormers team-mate Joe van Niekerk but Britz is still hoping to play a further part in the European Cup.
"I'm hoping we win and then I can hopefully make the semi-final," he said.
"But Toulon have a very strong squad, they have a really good set of forwards and Jonny Wilkinson who is a very clever player. He reads the game well and doesn't get reckless under pressure.
"We lost at home to Toulon in the league so we would like to get one back and the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup would be a great time to do it.
"It's also important for us to play well in Barcelona because it will be a special moment for the club.
Perpignan lost 25 v 24 to Heineken Cup Champions Toulouse in the French Championship at the weekend, but Britz believes they need to focus on the form that got through to this stage of the competition when they face Philippe Saint-Andre's side on Saturday
"Losing was a big disappointment but we just have to re-group and look at what we did wrong," he added.
"We also need to remember what we did right to get us into the last eight."
