Toulon coach Philippe Saint-Andre says his team gained a major psychological boost ahead of their Heineken Cup quarter-final "war" against Perpignan.
Saint-Andre saw his Toulon team crush Stade Francais 38-10 at Stade Felix Mayol in their last game before an historic European clash in Barcelona this weekend.
Davit Kubriashvili, Christian Loamanu, Joe Van Niekerk and Gavin Henson all scored tries while Jonny Wilkinson kicked 18 points in an impressive win.
Saint-Andre said: "It was a good result for the confidence and psychology of my team in preparation for that game. We played some good rugby, scored five tries and that is a big positive ahead of the quarter-final.
"That game against Perpignan will be a completely different game and a different atmosphere in Spain. It will be a war against Perpignan.
"But it will be the first time in the history of our club that we have competed in the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup and it will be a fantastic moment for us all.
"We qualified top of our group and this is the next step. Of course we are also fighting to win the French league as well."
