ERC can confirm that the Federation Française de Rugby (FFR) has withdrawn its application to host the 2014 Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup finals, due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the availability of the Stade de France.
"Everything we do now is going to help or hinder us in our preparation for the Heineken Cup.
"I'm delighted with our result. It was a pretty flat performance from us and we lacked a bit of cohesion but thankfully we survived here in Newport and we know how tough that is.
"They've had a fair bit of rugby, with four games on the trot with pretty much the same team while we're trying to bring our International guys back in.
Leinster and Leicester will come together at a packed Aviva Stadium on Saturday April 9 in a repeat of the 2009 Heineken Cup final.
The Irish province came out on top in that encounter to lift their first European Trophy and we are set for another titanic battle between the two famous clubs in the knock-out stage this year.
