Luke Charteris has insisted Newport Gwent Dragons haven't given up hope on a spot in the Heineken Cup next season.
The Newport based region are currently the fourth placed Welsh side in the Magners League meaning they would qualify for the Amlin Challenge Cup next term, with the top three side's only in Wales progressing through to the Heineken Cup.
But with just five domestic games remaining, Charteris, who continues to lead the side in the absence of captain Tom Willis, hasn't given up hope on Heineken Cup qualification.
"All our emphasis is on trying to get Heineken Cup rugby next year, there is nothing better and it's a massive goal, the guys deserve it," said the Welsh second-row.
"We're going to have to qualify for the play-offs to do it by the looks of it, it's going to be another massive challenge so it's a double reward. We've got to play the Ospreys and the Blues, but win those games and we will give ourselves a chance.
"It's a bit of a challenge but we haven't given up on that goal."
