Scarlets playmaker Stephen Jones has been recalled to the Wales squad ahead of their game in Rome against Italy on Saturday, with James Hook starting in the centre in place of the injured Jonathan Davies.
Davies strained a hamstring against Scotland a fortnight ago and has not fully recovered, meaning Hook who will win his 50th cap in the game, moves into the centre, his third position in as many games for his country.
Jones is back in the fly-half jersey after missing the victory over Scotland and will win his 98th cap and Cardiff Blues wing Leigh Halfpenny has recovered from an ankle injury to be named amongst the replacements.
"We have selected the strongest possible side, showing the utmost respect to Italy," said Wales head coach Warren Gatland.
"We know only too well what tough opponents they are in Rome and so we have picked the strongest team available to us."
