Ireland have called up eight additional players including Tommy Bowe and Andrew Trimble to their 22-man squad which lost to France at the weekend as they prepare for the visit to Murrayfield on Sunday.
Ospreys flyer Bowe has recovered from a knee injury which ruled him out of Ireland's opening two RBS 6 Nations matches and played for the Welsh region in their Magners League victory over Benetton Treviso on Saturday.
Trimble was part of the Ulster team that beat the Scarlets on Friday evening and is joined in the Ireland camp by Gavin Duffy, Denis Hurley, Rhys Ruddock, Tony Buckley, Donnacha Ryan and Mick O'Driscoll.
British & Irish Lion Stephen Ferris has been ruled out of the game with a knee injury and is set to see a specialist later this week.
Ireland face Scotland this weekend and care currently fourth in the table after victory over Italy on the opening weekend followed by defeat to France at the Aviva Stadium in the last round of action.
