The Board of ERC today (Thursday, 10 February, 2011) imposed a fine on La Rochelle of 5,000 euros (suspended until 31 May, 2011) for a breach of the 2010/11 Amlin Challenge Cup tournament rules.
The Board found that for La Rochelle's Round 3, Pool 5 Amlin Challenge Cup game against Gloucester Rugby at Stade Marcel Deflandre on 11 December, 2010, the club's Official Match Squad Sheet provided to the Match Commissioner and to the media one hour before kick-off, differed from the Match Squad provided to the media the day before the game in that it contained numerous changes.
The Board decided to suspend the fine until 31 May, 2011. The fine will only be payable if, within that period, the club is found to have breached the same tournament rule regarding Official Match squad announcements.
