Munster have announced that forwards coach, Laurie Fisher, will end his association with the Irish province at the close of the current season.
Fisher, was brought in at the start of the 2008/09 season (to replace Jim Williams after he had been appointed assistant coach to the Wallabies) on a two-year contract following four years as head coach at the Canberra based Brumbies Super 14 Rugby franchise. The contract term was subsequently extended to a third season (2010/2011) but by mutual consent the option of a fourth season has not been considered by either party.
During his time Munster have won the Magners League title, contested two Heineken Cup semi-finals and currently lead the Magners League. The club's European campaign continues with an Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final against Brive on Saturday, 9 April.
Fisher said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Munster. To be involved in a club with such history, tradition and passion has been a wonderful experience. I've had the pleasure to work with some of the world's best players and others who will be in the future.
"I'm disappointed not to have achieved the holy grail of Heineken Cup success but there is still the Amlin Challenge Cup there for us this season and the Magners League is very much in our sights. I will follow Munster's progress in the future as a new generation of player emerges, and will long carry the memory of the unique atmosphere that is a full house at Thomond Park Stadium."
