Toulouse have yet to secure a try bonus point in three games and if Jacobs and his team-mates can keep their nerve over the next two rounds, and make it doubles over the Dragons and Glasgow Warriors, then the Round 6 clash with the French giants will be a winner takes all thriller.
Both the Dragons and Toulouse have to travel to Adams Park and they will have to break a run of 13 successive home tournament wins by Wasps, and a 15-match unbeaten streak that stretches back to 2004, if they are to take four or more points out of their trips.
"We are still disappointed that we lost so narrowly to Toulouse in the first round, although to compete with the top European teams like them we know we will need to improve 10 fold for sure on our performance against the Dragons," admitted Jacobs.
"We are playing some good football, but we are guilty of not putting teams away and we need to improve on that. We know we have got two very difficult games to play before we meet Toulouse again, but hopefully everything will come down to that last Pool match.
"We have got a few players ready to come back from injury and there is a lot of confidence within our squad. We are a team that thrives on confidence and now we have six wins on the trot under our belt."
Wasps' Director of Rugby Tony Hanks was happy to have "won ugly" against the Dragons, but will be looking for a major improvement in the return game at Adams Park.
"Away wins are hard to come by in the Heineken Cup and to get one against a tough Dragons side was pleasing. Maybe we deserve a pat on the back for winning ugly, although our performance in general concerned me," said Hanks.
"The Dragons did what we expected them to do and they came at us from the start. We struggled to get out of our 22 and we didn't play well.
"Our away record has been good in the Premiership and now its five points on the road in the Heineken Cup. If someone had offered us four points at the start of the game we would certainly have taken them and we know next weekend is going to be just as tough.
"It will be question of trying to win the game first and foremost. Bonus points are great, and we have taken two from three games and Toulouse have not got any, but you have to concentrate on winning.
"We know that if we can win the game we still have a tough away trip to Glasgow Warriors to come before we meet Toulouse. We can't afford to get too far ahead of ourselves."
