It's down to the wire now for the five contenders who have been shortlisted for the ultimate individual accolade in northern hemisphere rugby, ERC European Player of the Year 2013.
And Cueto who was part of the Sale sides that tasted Amlin Challenge Cup glory in 2002 and 2005 has targeted a hat-trick in the competition.
"The Amlin Cup is a massive target for us - it means qualifying for next year's Heineken Cup and it's also silverware for the club," Cueto told the Manchester Evening News.
"There's not too many opportunities that go by in your career where you can win a piece of silverware.
"And at the end of your career you look back and there's not many players that have got that many trophies in their cabinet.
"You work hard week in, week out and come May sometimes you don't have a lot to show for it.
"You could have finished second in the league for a couple of years, which is massive achievement, but have nothing tangible so it would be nice to add another trophy to the list.
"They are not all going to be results like Saturday's. We know the competition is going to get stronger and there's some good English sides in the Amlin and some very powerful French ones like Stade Francais .
"So it's still early days but, hopefully, we'll find ourselves in a situation where we can compete in the knockout stages, go through and win it.
"And regardless of what we did well or didn't do in Petrarca, we've got 10 points from two games which is all you can do."
When European rugby returns to action in December, Sale face back-to-back fixtures against Brive who are also unbeaten in the competition so far.
