Caminati crossed for a hat-trick and kicked a mammoth 14 conversions as he entered the record books on two fronts.
The 24-year-old became the highest point scorer in a match, by-passing Mark Mapletoft's record of 34 points which stretched back to 1996 and now also heads the list of most conversion in a match, knocking Jannie de Beer off the top-spot.
French International Nicolas Jeanjean also had reason to celebrate, the winger scoring five tries at Campo de Pepe Rojo.
Hooker Benoit Cabello opened the scoring after 11 minutes and the visitors never looked back, scoring a further 6 first half tries. Jeanjean scored his first two in quick succession before Cabello collected his second of the afternoon.
Antoine Claassen, Pat Barnard and then Caminati rounded off the scoring for the former European Champions in the first forty minutes.
Cetransa full-back Ian Davey kicked the hosts only score on the stroke of half time.
The second-half was pretty much the same, Jeanjean helping himself to another brace within eight minutes of the re-start. Caminati completed his hat-trick after 65-minutes after Scott Speeding and Fabien Domingo had both scored.
Former England scrum-half Shaun Perry scored with ten minutes remaining, and then Jeanjean, Guillaume Ribes and Spedding rounded off the scoring.
La Rochelle 30-23 Agen
La Rochelle came out on top in Pool 3's all-French encounter.
Romain Lacoste opened the scoring for the home-side and exchanged early penalties with Agen's fly-half Conrad Barnard.
The visitors came into the fixture in confident mood after victory over English side Gloucester in Round 1 and crossed for the first try after 33 minutes through scrum-half Maxime Machenaud.
Barnard extended Agen's lead with a penalty three minutes later.
As half-time approached La Rochelle scored a vital try through Andres Bordoy, Lacoste added the conversion to level the scores at the break.
Carmignani grabbed a try for the home-side just three minutes into the second half before John O'Sullivan crossed for Agen, Barnard converting to give the visitors a two-point lead.
Maxime Le Bourhis' try after 54 minutes was the turning point in the game. Lacoste converted to put the hosts ahead where they remained for the remainder of the game.
Barnard narrowed the deficit with a penalty with ten minutes to go, but Benjamin Ferrou's try at the death sealed the win for La Rochelle.
