Leinster must keep feet on ground - Schmidt

Having become the first team to beat Saracens at Wembley in five attempts, Leinster now have nine points and can move on to another massive away day challenge on 11 December with confidence high.

"Last week we showed a bit of class with the ball when we beat Racing Metro and this week we showed character without the ball. You can't have one without the other if you want to be successful," said Schmidt.

"It was a beautiful win - nothing ugly about it. They had never lost here and had won their last eight games at home in the Heineken Cup.

"I was really proud of the last few minutes because we kept our discipline really well when they went through 30 phases of play.

"We knew that Clermont had to make 230 tackles against them last week and that's the way Saracens play and I commend them for the energy they bring to the game. We knew we would have to play for long periods without the ball, but they played a fairly lateral game and we kept on knocking them back.

"It is nice to have taken the first step in this Pool, but we need to keep our feet on the ground because the balcony is a long way away.

"I know Clermont inside out and I know this Pool is far from over. We will park the Heineken Cup until December and then hope we can get another win."
