England scrum-half Danny Care believes the Amlin Challenge Cup will provide a different challenge for Harlequins this season.
The London-based side finished a disappointing eighth in the English Premiership last season and failed to win a game in their Heineken Cup campaign and Conor O'Shea's men are looking for an improvement and silverware this time around.
"This is going to be a very different challenge, a different experience and Bayonne are going to be really tough opposition," Care told the Guardian.
"We would like to win some silverware this year and the Amlin Cup is another opportunity to do that, but it is certainly not going to be easy."
Harlequins find themselves in Pool 1 of the Amlin Challenge Cup this year in a group that includes Bayonne, Italian side I Cavalieri Estra and last season's beaten semi-finalists Connacht.
French side Bayonne, who sit in mid-table in the Top 14, host Harlequins on Saturday evening at the Stade Jean Dauger in the pool's opening European fixture, before I Cavalieri Estra travel to The Stoop a week later.
