England's 2003 World Cup winner, Jonny Wilkinson, will be looking to guide his Toulon side to a victory over Danny Cipriani and his fellow Sharks at the Salford City Stadium.
Toulon, who just missed out on the French title last season, will be overwhelming favourites to get a win against a Sharks side which has struggled all year in the English Premiership.
Dwayne Peel, the Wales and Lions scrum-half, will make his 50th appearance in the Heineken Cup when he lines up for Sale who have lost four of their last five games against French sides in the Heineken Cup.
Sale's last win over a French side in Europe was over Clermont in 2009, while Toulon's only win on English side in the Heineken Cup was against London Irish in 2010.
Sale and Toulon have never played each other before in the Heineken Cup.
