London Welsh have made an encouraging start to their debut Premiership season - now they take their European bow against one of the giants of French rugby when they meet Stade Francais Paris at the Kassam Stadium.
The Exiles have beaten Exeter Chiefs and Sale Sharks and last weekend claimed a losing bonus point against Saracens while Sergio Parisse's star-studded Paris also picked up a bonus point in their 28-25 defeat at Clermont.
"It is a big plus for us to start with a home tie and if we can get a result there then that will set us up for the rest of the Pool stages," said London Welsh captain Jonathan Millls.
"Stade have a big pack and we will certainly have to match them up front and then hopefully our backs can come good with points on the board.
"Winning your home games is crucial and with just the five group winners qualifying for the quarter-finals we know we will have to pick up some points on the road."
