Bruno is 'Golden Oldie' of Heineken Cup

The Heineken Cup season is over and the 18th final in Dublin has changed the face of the tournament once again. Here are a few facts and figures from the game itself and from the tournament records.

What the papers had to say about the Heineken Cup Final

They all agreed the 18th Heineken Cup final was one of the most physical and absorbing of all-time and the media were still shaking their heads in disbelief at how ASM Clermont Auvergne failed to win in Dublin.

Jonny Wilkinson named as ERC European Player of the Year

Jonny Wilkinson (Toulon) has been named ERC European Player of the Year 2013. The prestigious award crowns an outstanding season for the out-half who led the French club to a dramatic Heineken Cup final victory over ASM Clermont Auvergne at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

24 Heineken Cup contenders now confirmed

Following the epic Dublin 2013 finals which featured Heineken Cup success for Toulon and an Amlin Challenge Cup victory for Leinster Rugby, there was good news on the qualification front for Perpignan and Connacht Rugby who both secured places in the 2013/14 Heineken Cup.
