Injury updates: -last update 13/12/02
Wales:
Cardiff and Wales international full back Rhys Williams is facing a race against time to be fit for his side's Heineken Cup match at Cardiff Arms Park on Sunday.
Williams is rated as 'extremely doubtful' after suffering a bad gash on his knee. He scored Cardiff's only try in the 25-11 loss to Northampton last weekend.
Dai Young is also without the services of skipper Martyn Williams (dead leg), Andrew Lewis (back strain), and John Tait (neck).
The Blue and Blacks take on Northampton Saints in a quick-fire return this weekend.
Ireland:
Leinster Lions' match winning try scorer Gordon D'Arcy sustained a back injury during their dramatic 23-20 win over French side Montferrand Vulcans at Parc des Sports on Saturday.
The injury will keep the international winger out of the Lions return Heineken Cup Round 4 match against Montferrand at Donnybrook on Friday night.
D'Arcy was taken straight to hospital after the Leinster party returned to Dublin on Saturday night.
Team doctor Jim McShane said the player had internal bleeding in the lower back.
Scotland:
Edinburgh outside half Duncan Hodge sustained a fractured hand in his sides 30-9 defeat to Toulouse in the Heineken Cup Round 3.
The Scottish international underwent surgery on Sunday morning, and will wear a cast for up to three weeks.
France:
Not only did Beziers lose to twice Heineken Cup champions Leicester tigers 24-12 at the weekend, but their defeat has come at a price.
Their French international lock forward Thibault Pricat is suffering from an acute ankle strain.
The second row has undergone medical examinations, and is rated as doubtful for the return match at Welford Road next week.
**Toulouse have major problems in the front row, with three of their key players sidelined.
Patrice Collazo has undergone a shoulder operation in the French Championship and will be out for thee months,
Romanian international front row Dragons Dima is unavailable for selection as he is suffering from abdominal pains.
And to add to Toulouse's injury problems prop Jean-Baptiste Poux was injured in his side's 30-9 Heineken Cup Round 3 victory over Edinburgh. He has rib cartridge damage and will be out for four weeks.
**Perpignan second row Jerome Thion has recovered from tendonitis in his Achilles and replaces John Daniell while Frédéric Cermeno is fully fit after a foot problem and comes in for David Marty as the French saide prepare for their battle with Gloucester
**Perpignan skipper Bernard Goutta has been forced to miss his side's match with Gloucester with an injured calf.
England:
Wasps wing Paul Sampson has a serious injury of the knee. He sustained it while playing for England at the World Sevens in Dubai. The injury will keep him on the sidelines for between nine and 12 months.
