Leicester Tigers will face Beziers in Round 3 of the Heineken Cup without the services of two key pack members.
England stars Lewis Moody and Neil Back will be sidelined for several weeks with injuries sustained during the Test against South Africa.
Back, who is in his testimonial year, has a fractured cheekbone, and rising star Lewis Moody is out with an injured shoulder.
Moody underwent an operation to repair his damaged shoulder on Wednesday, but rehabilitation is likely to take until Christmas, ruling him out of Leicester's crucial Heineken Cup Rounds 3 and 4 battles against Beziers.
Moody's absence means former All Black Josh Kronfeld is the only international-class openside flanker available to the Tigers.
Better news for the Leicester management team of Dean Richards and John Wells is that the rest of Leicester's international contingent, led by England skipper Martin Johnson, reported back fit on Wednesday.
