Bourgoin backrow Sebastien Chabal will sit out his side's back-to-back Heineken Cup Round 3 and 4 fixtures against Glasgow Rugby after injuring a thigh in France's 35-3 win over France on Saturday.
Chabel came on after 70 minutes as a replacement for Olivier Magne at the Stade de France.
Bourgoin team manager Jean-Claude Rabatel said: 'Sebastien will miss rounds three and four of the Heineken Cup, and his participation is in doubt for the matches in the new year against Llanelli and Sale Sharks.
'It's a big blow to the team to lose one of our best players for this amount of time.'
Bourgoin have started this year's Heineken Cup campaign well, scoring eight tries in two games. An opening day 24-18 away victory was followed in Round 2 with a resounding 54-38 home victory over last season's semi-finalists Llanelli.
Meanwhile Bourgoin's French international prop Olivier Milloud has been included in the squad for their French Championship match against Castres this weekend.
And lock Gerald Orsoni will be fit to return in time for the Heineken Cup. He has been out for 2 months with a hamstring injury.
