Following his impressive debut in Bristol's 24-19 victory over Montferrand in Round 2 of the Heineken Cup, Rhys Oakley has been going from strength to strength.
The 22-year-old No. 8 was voted 'man of the match' and since then he has made the shirt his own, starting Bristol's last five games.
The Shoguns will face Swansea at St. Helens in Round 3 of the Heineken Cup, a game they need to win to remain in a strong position in Pool 4.
And following their impressive win over local rivals Bath at the weekend, young gun Oakley believes getting a result in Wales is possible.
"It proves that we can win away which we hadn't done this season. It's given us a lot of confidence going into the game this weekend at Newcastle and next weekend's clash at Swansea."
Bristol's Heineken Cup opponents Swansea have received an injury boost.
Former Wales centre, and club captain Scott Gibbs has recovered well from a minor knee operation and is expected to be in the squad, and fellow former Wales centre Mark Taylor is also reported to be making good progress with his knee injury.
