Steve Brotherstone (Newcastle Falcons) has withdrawn from the Scotland squad to face Romania in the Scottish Mutual Autumn Test at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Brotherstone suffered a knee injury in his club's loss to London Irish yesterday. His place in the squad is taken by Steve Scott (The Borders) who is promoted from the A squad, where Glenn Metcalfe takes over as captain.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed today that on account of the twisted neck he sustained in the Bank of Scotland Pro-Rugby Cup meeting with Edinburgh at the weekend.
"We're optimistic that Jason will be fit for consideration for our Test against South Africa next Saturday," said Scotland manager Dougie Morgan.
Nathan Hines (Edinburgh Rugby) was called into the Scotland squad yesterday to provide second-row cover.
