NEC Harlequins wing Dan Luger has made a successful comeback to competitive rugby - by scoring a try for Quins second XV in their 43-20 victory over Cambridge University at Grange Road.
The searing pace that made Luger an England regular was in evidence as he bagged a try after 36 minutes, touching down after a neatly worked set piece from the scrum.
But Luger is lacking match fitness and was replaced soon after the score.
Luger has been out of action for seven months since damaging knee ligaments in the Singapore leg of the IRB World Sevens Series.
The 2001 British Lion will now be targeting a place in the team that face French side Stade Francais in the first leg of Round 2 of the PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP on Saturday December 7 at the Stoop.
