Glasgow Rugby will be without Jason White for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Heineken Cup.
The lock suffered concussion during the first half of Scotland's 36-22 win over Fiji at Murrayfield on Sunday.
IRB regulation 10.1 states: "A Player who has suffered concussion shall not participate in any Match or training session for a minimum period of three weeks from the time of injury." Meaning White will definitely miss this weekend's Celtic League quarter-final against Ulster at Hughenden, and the two Heineken Cup matches against Bourgoin in December.
White's absence compounds Glasgow's forwards problems, with lock Steve Griffiths recently forced to retire from rugby due to persistent injury problems, Glasgow are now left with just two recognised locks, Nathan Ross and Andy Hall.
White has captained Glasgow on five times this season and his absence is a huge blow for the club at a crucial time of the season.
David Jordan, Glasgow's chief executive, said today: 'Of course, it's a blow to lose such an influential player as Jason. But we have to accept that a concussed player has to take at least three weeks' rest.'
