The Celtic League will set the trend when it introduces the exciting initiative of rugby's version of soccer's 'Golden Goal' to decide any tied matches in the knock-out stages of the tournament.
The 'Golden Point' will operate with immediate effect and will initially be used to settle any tied quarter-final at the end of the month.
Welshman Stephen Jones now has 179 points in 23 tests after his 21-point haul against Fiji on Saturday.
Jones now passes Phil Bennett to become the fourth highest Welsh points scorer.
France coach Bernard Laporte says his team will not be adopting an anti-Lomu plan when France take on New Zealand on Saturday (Stade de France, 20.45 local time).
All the talk has been of the New Zealand wing since his blistering performance against England last weekend but Laporte says it would be a huge mistake to make Lomu a target.
"Two years ago I designed an anti-Lomu plan for my players in a Test-match in Wellington but it was a catastrophic decision. On one occasion, three of our players moved up on him leaving the wings completely unguarded.
"He is certainly a player who poses a huge threat. But we must be very aware of Doug Howlett on the other wing - in my opinion he is much more unpredictable."
