The draw for Round 1 of the PARKER PEN SHIELD was completed in Dublin today (Monday, 21 October) when the Chief Executive of European Rugby Cup Ltd, Derek McGrath, was joined by the Chief Executive of the International Rugby Board, Mike Miller, in determining who will have home advantage in the first leg on 6/7/8 December.
The teams entering Round 1 of the PARKER PEN SHIELD were the 16 losers from Round 1 of the PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP. There are seven Italian clubs, four French teams, two each from Spain and Wales and one from Romania taking part in Round 1 of the PARKER PEN SHIELD tournament.
The outcome of the draw means the games will be played in the following order:
PARKER PEN SHIELD ROUND 1 (FIRST LEG) - 6/7/8 December
Match 17: Castres Olympique v Grenoble
Match 18: L'Aquila Rugby v Dinamo Bucuresti
Match 19: Ebbw Vale v Madrid 2012
Match 20: Pau v GR.A.N. Rugby Parma
Match 21: La Moraleja Alcobendas v Rugby Parma

Rugby Roma meet Padova in an all-Italian affair, while last season's Shield quarter-finalists Pau will tackle Rugby Parma.
