Lions lock Jeremy Davidson is fit to resume for the 1999 champions Ulster in their Pool 6 Heineken Cup clash with Cardiff at Ravenhill on Friday night (kick-off 7.05 pm)
The game, which will be broadcast live on BBC N.Ireland, will be Ulster's first home game in Europe following their 32-9 defeat at Northampton on Sunday. Davidson takes over the captaincy from David Humphreys.
Davidson, who has been suffering with knee trouble, returns to join fellow Irish lock Gary Longwell in the second row in place of Mark Blair.
Ulster coach Alan Solomons has included Irish outside half Humphreys in his side despite the knee injury his No10 picked up at Northampton.
