Biarritz coach Laurent Rodriguez says he will rotate his squad so the French champions will have to have their 'best possible team available' for their next two Heineken encounters - home and away to Ulster.
'Our objective is to succeed in the Heineken Cup, so we will rotate our squad over the next few weeks so that we have the best possible team available to go to Ulster in Round 3.'
Last week's bruising encounter with Northampton has left Rodriguez with no doubt that the added pressure of Heineken Cup rugby will test the depth of his squad.
'Last Saturday's game was played at international level right from the start. With two championship matches coming up starting this weekend against Montauban, then at home to Grenoble, there is no time to recuperate.
'The Northampton game was a very physical encounter which left its trace in terms of injuries - David Couzinet and John Isaac suffered ankle injuries,' he said.
But Rodriguez is confident his French championship-winning squad has the strength in depth to succeed.
'We have players coming back into the squad so at least we are able to let players recover properly.'
And even at this early stage of the season, Rodriguez is aware that nothing less than maximum points against Ulster will do.
'Already we know that we must win both matches against Ulster in order to have a decent chance of qualifying.
'It is imperative that we win in Belfast in Round 3, but it will be a difficult match. Irish rugby has made huge forward steps and in keeping most Irish players in Ireland the Irish Rugby Union is assured of continued success'.
