Perpignan lock John Daniell is a typical Perpignan player, one of the types people talk about when they say 'the Perpignan pack is awesome; or 'they are a team without a lot of stars.' Quotes from people such as Dean Richards and Matt Williams - quotes from people who know what they are talking about.
Daniell joined the Catalan club three seasons ago, after a short spell in England, the six foot, seven inch tall lock has made ten Heineken Cup appearances, including five this season.
"For Perpignan, winning the Heineken Cup would a very, very big deal. The club has really grown in since I joined three years ago, the club at that point was in danger of relegation.
"And in the first year I was here we weren't playing in European Cup, we were playing European Shield. Then we moved up into playing European Cup.
"We had Llanelli and Leicester last year which made it very difficult and we didn't get past the qualifying round, but we learnt a lot from that experience last year and this time round we've managed to put a good little run of games together."

Daniell, is a journalist by trade, and with Kiwi rugby players making good export stock, he has found his brand of hard nosed, hard working rugby a natural home in Europe, all to his surprise.
"To be honest, if you'd told me five years ago I would be playing in a European Cup final, I would never have believed you, but it's fantastic.
"I'm not getting any younger, and this is going to be a real highlight in my career.
And Daniell, 30, is clear about the reasons why his side have progressed to be one of the best teams in Europe.
"Perpignan's strength has always been our attack, and I think what we managed to do this year, that perhaps we didn't do last year was to couple with a very good half-back pairing, Manny Edmonds has had a great year for us and also defensively our backs are very capable.
