Bernard Laporte, the head coach of the French National squad, speaks to ercrugby.com in advance of the biggest day in French club rugby, as Perpignan and Toulouse prepare to do battle in the Heineken Cup final at Lansdowne Road on 24 May...
"I am expecting a high quality final. Both teams deserve the Heineken Cup final, they are not here by luck," said Laporte.
"Stade Toulousian, we all know. They are always hungry to perform at the very highest level, and they have the experience of playing in this type of high intensity match.
"Perpignan, have strength and power, and have momentum behind them. The road to the final for the Catalans was tough. They took to the road and came home with two huge results. Travelling to Llanelli in the quarter-final and then to Lansdowne Road for the semi-final would not have been easy.
"Perpignan v Toulouse... let the best team win. Whatever the result, I'm still very happy for French rugby.'
