Biarritz Olympique put one over their fellow French Heineken Cup quarter-finalists Toulouse with a 22-15 victory in the play-offs...
Biarritz centre Jack Isaac, made his comeback after injury against Toulouse on Saturday with a very convincing personal performance. But the former Australian Sevens representative was typically harsh of his personal performance.
"We weren't great on Saturday," said Jack, "but we've got another play-off game - at Pau on April 5 to improve things before the quarter-final.
However, you can at least take something from a match if you can win despite not playing well.
"I'm not sure what Leinster's programme is in terms of preparation but we will expect a hard match at Pau which will hopefully prepare us well for the trip to Dublin.
"To play in front of 40 000 people at Lansdowne Road will certainly be
something special. It's going to be very difficult but not beyond our reach.
We will take as much confidence into the game as we do into our play-off matches so we don't feel huge underdogs.
"I played in one of our two Pool matches against them last year but apart from the fact that Leinster have 13 Irish internationals in their
squad, and Ireland are on top form at the moment I don't know that much about their team yet. It is true to say though that this will probably be the hardest match we play this year."
Toulouse head coach Guy Noves said after the game: "We didn't play as a team on Saturday and it shows on the quality of our play. We are going to have to improve dramatically in order to be at the level we were at the end of our Heineken Cup Pool matches. "We now have another two weeks of Six Nations then an important play-off
match against Bourgoin before the quarter-final."
