Formal complaints of misconduct charges have been made by ERC against three clubs as a result of failures to fulfill fixtures on schedule. The clubs and matches concerned are:
1) Neath
Neath v Beziers - The Gnoll, January 11, 2002, Heineken Cup Round 5
2) Saracens
Saracens v Newcastle Falcons - Vicarage Road, January 12, 2002, first leg PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP quarter-final
3) Ebbw Vale
Ebbw Vale v Pau - Eugene Cross Park, January 11, 2002, first leg PARKER PEN SHIELD quarter-final
The charges are that Neath, Saracens and Ebbw Vale are alleged to have:
a) failed to take appropriate steps to prepare and protect their playing surfaces to ensure that their home matches did not have to be postponed due to adverse weather or ground conditions
b) failed to have an alternative venue in reserve
