Pontypridd back-row Michael Owen has been ruled out of Friday night's return European clash with Wasps at Sardis Road after being ruled out for up to two months.
Owen is facing a lengthy lay-off after damaging medial knee ligaments during Pontypridd's surprise defeat at Swansea at the weekend.
It means he will miss the crunch second-leg of their Parker Pen Challenge Cup semi-final on Friday - but could also jeopardise his place on Wales' summer tour to Australia and New Zealand.
'I'm gutted that I'm going to miss the rest of the season, especially with this game against Wasps just a few days away,' said Owen.
'It also means I will miss the final if the boys do the job and win on Friday.
'But my main concern now has to be to get back as soon as possible. I have been warned that I might not be back in time to be available for the summer tour and that would be so disappointing. So I'm just desperately hoping that the injury will clear up in time.'
The injury is a major blow for Pontypridd who must overcome a 15-point deficit against Wasps if they are to reach their second successive European final.
