It's down to the wire now for the five contenders who have been shortlisted for the ultimate individual accolade in northern hemisphere rugby, ERC European Player of the Year 2013.

"Also it's so hard to leave Wasps and I think it would have killed me if I had left. I know that I have made the right decision as I'm happy and this is where I want to be".
London Wasps director of rugby, Warren Gatland, said, " Phil is such a valuable member of the Wasps squad and I'm delighted that he has decided to stay. His experience and leadership is something Wasps will certainly need during this world cup year. At 27, his international career is far from over and he still has a lot to offer Wasps and English rugby".
