Bath Rugby are delighted to confirm that Danny Grewcock is to be Club Captain for the forthcoming season of Zurich Premiership, European Challenge Cup and Powergen Cup participation.
After captaining Bath Rugby to the Parker Pen Challenge Cup final last season, Head Coach John Connolly said that Danny's leadership qualities and ability to lead from the front made him an automatic choice for the new season: "Danny did a very good job last year under difficult circumstances. He is certainly someone who has the respect of the players, and this year conditions are better. Danny will be a good leader for us this season."
Danny said that he was looking forward to a fresh challenge with a greatly changed and exciting squad: "It's a great honour for me to be Club Captain again. Last year was tough but I enjoyed the captaincy role. The squad is coming together well with all the new faces slotting in quickly, there is so much competition for places at the moment and I am really looking forward to being Captain.
"There is a great challenge that lies ahead for Bath Rugby this season and we are all focused on re-establishing this club to its rightful place at the forefront of the domestic and European game."
Bath Rugby play the first of three pre-season trial matches on Sunday against newly-formed Welsh Province the Celtic Warriors at Sardis Road. Kick-off is at 3pm.
