While the posters around Stade Francais are billing the club's crunch opening match on Saturday against double Heineken Cup champions Leicester Tigers as 'La Revanche', Nick Mallett is quick to stamp on any talk of revenge for the club's 34-30 defeat in the 2001 final across the road at Parc des Princes.
"It's not revenge - only six or seven of our current team actually played in that game and it's certainly not revenge for me," said Mallett.
"We have not had a good start to our season - much like Leicester Tigers - and at the moment it's all about trying to get some organisation and stability into our game.
"We have lost four out of four Championship matches so far and we didn't play well in our 13-6 loss at Pau last weekend so we are training every day this week to get some kind of fluency.
"We had 14 players away at the World Cup so we are disjointed but Leicester will have seven or eight World Cup winners in their side - and for that reason they must go in as favourites.
"English rugby is on such a high at the moment - last season we played Wasps and they were the strongest team we played all season. England's World Cup triumph is confirmation of their superiority.
"The English sides didn't do so well last year in the Heineken Cup but I think Wasps, Gloucester and Leicester are all teams that have a good chance this time."
