Bath's England centre Mike Tindall will miss his side's Parker Pen Challenge Cup Round Two matches against Colomiers after damaging ankle ligaments in the Zurich Premiership victory over Saracens.
The Frenchmen are due to host the English league leaders at Stade Selery on Sunday, 11 January and travel to The Recreation Ground for the second leg on Saturday, 17 January.
But World Cup winner Tindall will definitely be missing after an MRI scan revealed extensive damage to his right ankle which will need reconstruction surgery as a result.
He is expected to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks, which means he could also miss the RBS Six Nations Championship.
