Carlo Checchinato, Benetton Treviso's outstanding international lock, was disappointed to lose their opening Pool 5 match to Gloucester but still believes being in the tournament is the best thing for Italian rugby.
"It is tough - but we are thrilled to be playing Heineken Cup matches," said the 33-year-old.
"The higher the level of rugby, the better it is.
"We feel we missed an opportunity to clinch a victory against Gloucester last weekend and a trip to Ireland to face Munster is a big ask.
"Munster did themselves a huge favour by winning in Bourgoin - it is never easy to win in France - and as their players make up a big body of the Irish team, we know how difficult it will over there.
"Having said that, we will go over there to get stuck is and do our best. It's a great challenge and that's what makes the competition so attractive. It's not just our Pool - every Pool is difficult in the Heineken Cup but with Munster and Gloucester especially, there is no let-up."
