Bath Rugby Head Coach John Connolly has named his side to face L'Aquila in the first round second leg match tomorrow at the Recreation Ground. James Hudson and Chris Goodman will make their debut in the Bath colours down at the Rec, and Rob Hawkins will be in the same position should he come off the bench.
World Cup winner Iain Balshaw, granted the Freedom of the City yesterday, will face a late fitness test on his leg. 'We will make a decision on Balsh tomorrow after the warm up,' said Connolly. 'He took a nasty hit to the leg last week and is still not 100% right. If he does not make it we will start with Ross Blake on the wing and only use five subs.'
The side will also include World Cup winner Danny Grewcock with Mike Tindall on the bench. Duncan Bell, Zak Feaunati and Rob Fidler will all take their places on the bench following their well deserved rest last weekend.
With a 64 point aggregate advantage going into this leg the chances are that Bath Rugby will progress into the second round, but Connolly expects nothing but the best from his charges. 'This game is all about the performance. We must improve on last weekend, keep on the front foot and look towards Newcastle as our major focus.'
