OSPREYS 16 EDINBURGH 32
Edinburgh continued their fine form with a win, and a bonus point against the Neath-Swansea Ospreys at St Helens.
The Scottish side proved last weekend's shock win over Toulouse wasn't a fluke, consigning the Neath-Swansea region to their sixth consecutive defeat.
Two late tries narrowed the margin, but there was only one team in the match as man-of-the-match Scott Murray dominated the lineouts.
Outside-halves Chris Paterson (Edinburgh) and Shaun Connor traded early penalty goals before visiting captain Todd Blackadder took advantage of a solid rolling maul to score the game's first try.
Paterson added the extras and a second penalty goal, before winger Craig Joiner grubber-kicked the ball through and won the race to take his side to a daunting 18-3 lead at the halftime break.
Visiting lock Nathan Hines was sin-binned in the 49th minute, but Edinburgh simply picked their game up and scored through Paterson and winger Hugo Southwell to put the game beyond doubt.
Ospreys centres Scott Gibbs and Dave Tiueti scored consolation tries but the home side were never in with a shout against a side rated as 200-1 chances at the start of the Heineken Cup tournament.
The victory takes Edinburgh to the top of their pool with 10 points out of a possible 10.
