Gloucester have made a flying start to their Heineken Cup Pool 5 campaign - picking up the maximum five points from their trip to Treviso - but now coach Dean Ryan is demanding they win back-to-back home clashes with Bourgoin and Munster.
Bourgoin go to Kingsholm on Saturday after going down to a one-point home defeat by Munster - the only away wins of Round 1 coming in Pool 5 - with Ryan warning it is the quality of the Bourgoin side rather than any backlash that poses the greatest threat.
"We know that if we are to qualify for the quarter-finals then we must beat Bourgoin, Munster and Benetton Treviso at home - as well as picking up whatever points we can from our away games," said Ryan.
"Bourgoin will be smarting from their one-point home defeat by Munster and, while I am not wary of any backlash from that result, I am wary about the quality of the Bourgoin side.
"They are powerful up front and have a good kicking game. Almost every French back is a potential dangerman and they have a couple of top quality guys.
"We have to make sure their scrum and line-out do not knock us out of sorts and be alert to any broken play opportunities that go their way."
Kingsholm is set to be packed to the rafters for this key clash - including Bourgoin Director of Rugby Philippe Saint-Andre's return to his old stamping ground - and Ryan is banking on the special Kingsholm atmosphere to play its part.
"The Heineken Cup generates such tremendous enthusiasm and, with a French team involved, I am sure Kingsholm will be really buzzing on Saturday," he said.
"We had 500 supporters in Treviso last weekend and the noise they made was very comforting and great for the players. Saturday should be a great occasion.
"We did concede an early try to Treviso, which gave them confidence, but in the end some of our rugby was quite outstanding and, as Treviso defended extremely well, I could not have asked for more than coming away with five points."
Nigel Melville, Gloucester's Director of Rugby, added: 'The Heineken Cup is such an attractive challenge and you only have to look at the results from last weekend's game to see how important it is to be on top of your game for every fixture. It is very important to win your home games and there is no bigger test than Bourgoin coming to Kingsholm.'
