Glasgow are unchanged for the second leg of the the Parker Pen Challenge Cup Round One match against Montpellier at Hughenden on Friday.
Glasgow beat the French club 30-11 in Carcassonne last Saturday night in the first leg of the Parker Pen Challenge Cup first-round tie. It was the first time Glasgow had won a European tournament match in France, and now the coaches have given the team the confidence to stay together to complete the "second half" of the work they started last weekend.
Glenn Metcalfe, Scotland's World Cup full back, remains the only notable absence. "Glenn hasn't recovered from his knee injury," Hugh Campbell, Glasgow's head coach, explained this morning. Stuart Moffat remains at full back.
One change, however, has been enforced among the replacements because of Paul Dearlove's ankle injury in the Carcassonne match. Dearlove took a knock almost as soon as he joined the action as a replacement late in the second half. Roland Reid takes over as the back-row replacement for tomorrow's match.
A small group of supporters travelled to France to see last weekend's cup-tie, and today David Jordan, Glasgow's chief executive, paid tribute to them. "I would like to thank our group of supporters who made the trip with us. There were only about 30 of them, but they certainly made themselves heard in Carcassonne. I know that they helped to inspire our players," he said. "I hope that there will be a hundred or more times that number at Hughenden tomorrow night to congratulate our victorious team and cheer them on to another win against Montpellier."
